Paolo Breccia

Paolo Breccia (born March 25, 1941 in Pisa ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Breccia studied law and graduated in 1968 from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia . In the same year he made his first film, which however did not make it to the cinemas after it was shown at the Venice Film Festival . The following year he shot a biography of the Colombian priest Camilo Torres . In 1975 a science fiction film followed with Terminal and then only in 1991 Cena alla nove , for which he also contributed the script. From the 1990s he wrote more for other directors. The Cineteca Nazionale praised Breccia in 2009 as "one of the most idiosyncratic authors whose work is mysterious and experimental and who does not seek the big stage".
