Paolo Grassini

Paolo Grassini (born April 13, 1954 in Orvieto ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Grassini began independently produced films in the late 1970s; his 1979 debut, Doppio movimiento , hit cinemas. After stays in Rome and Amsterdam, where he shot the short L'uomo della folla based on Edgar Allan Poe , he worked with his own production company “Videoset”, primarily for the RAI . With Italo Spinelli as co-director, the feature film Roma-Paris-Barcellona was made in 1989 , which, like all his films, was based on its own script and was nominated for the Italian “Globo d'oro”. In the years that followed, Grassini devoted himself exclusively to documentary films on controversial topics such as the ETA , Afghanistan and Pakistan.
