Paolo Nuzzi

Paolo Nuzzi (born December 2, 1929 in Naples , † March 10, 2018 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Nuzzi began in film as an assistant to Federico Fellini , whom he accompanied between 1954 and 1960, and shot an episode of the Cesare Zavattini film I misteri di Roma in 1962 . After the documentary Ecco il finimondo , which was challenged by the censors, another independent work followed ten years later, the Il piatto piange , based on Piero Chiara's novel , a portrait of the province of Piedmont at the time of fascism, which was awarded an Italian Golden Globe, and two years later Giovannino , which was written from a work by Ercole Patti . In addition, numerous television works were created under Nuzzi's direction ( Un mestiere come un altro , L'incidente , I giovedì della Signora Giulia , Piccolo bambino and many others) as well as reports. With Arturo and Marco Zavattini he devoted himself for many years to the work of Cesare Zavattini and published several monographs on it.
