Paolo Rosa

Paolo Rosa (* 1949 in Rimini ; † August 20, 2013 in Corfu , Greece ) was an Italian visual artist and experimental film director .

Life

Rosa studied at the Accademia di Brera and specialized in visual, multimedia and interactive art. From 1979 he made experimental films, mostly on video, and turned out to be one of the most personal filmmakers of his generation. Interesting works such as "Lato D.", "Luci di inganni", "Il nuotatore" or "Storie per corse" were created in this way. Also active in the theater, Rosa founded (with others such as Fabio Cirifino and Leonardo Sangiorgi ) the “Cooperativa Indigena” in 1982 and staged some of his works for them in varying lengths. With his art he took part in various international exhibitions, including a. at the Biennale di Venezia .

In 2011 Rosa was awarded the “Sigismondo d'Oro” by his hometown for his services to this.
