Papyrus 18 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 18 ) is an early Greek copy of part of the Bible . On the front it contains the end of chapter 40 of the Book of Exodus . This text is dated to the end of the 2nd century by means of paleographic determinations . On the back there is an early copy of the Revelation of John , but only contains verses 1, 4–7. It is a miniature code. Here the script can be dated to the 3rd or 4th century.
The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type . Aland placed it in Category I a. This manuscript shows the greatest agreement with the Codex Ephraemi .
The papyrus is currently in the British Library (Inv. 2053v) in London .
