Papyrus 70 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 70 ) is an early Greek copy of the New Testament . This papyrus manuscript of the Gospel of Matthew contains only verses 2, 13-16; 2.22-3.1; 11.26-27; 12.4-5; 24.3-6; 24.12-15.

70 has a very reliable text, although it was written carelessly. It was dated to the 3rd century using paleography .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type . Kurt Aland describes him as "strict text" and placed it in Category I a.

Repository

The manuscript is currently in the Ashmolean Museum (P. Oxy. 2384) in Oxford and at the Papyrological Institute of the National Archaeological Museum in Florence (CNR 419, 420).
