Bodmer XIII papyrus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Papyrus Bodmer XIII is a fragment of a papyrus code from the 3rd century. It contains parts from the homily Peri Pascha ( About Easter ), which was probably written by Melito of Sardis , in Greek . The sheets possibly belonged to a collective code with the papyri Bodmer VII – IX and X – XII.

The sheets were found with other papyri at Pbow in Egypt in 1952 and illegally brought abroad. They were bought by the Swiss collector Martin Bodmer . They are in the Bibliotheca Bodmeriana in Cologny near Geneva with the signature P. Bodmer XIII.
