The Parabolique curve in the section of the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois added in 1975

As Parabolika (or Parabolica or Parabolique ) portions of race tracks designated the course of a trajectory similar. Some of them are curves that, because of their large mean radius, are perceived by the driver as straights and can be driven through without reducing the speed, but often simply 180-degree curves with changing radii.

The best-known Parabolica is the target curve of the Monza racetrack , which, however, cannot be fully driven, but has to be braked. However, it can be fully accelerated later on because the radius at the exit of the curve increases. There were frequent serious collisions in front of and in this corner; for example, Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips was killed in 1961 and Jochen Rindt in 1970 in accidents in the braking zone.

The section of the new Hockenheimring in front of the hairpin, before the braking point of which the highest speed of the entire route is reached, is also referred to as parabolic .

In Estoril , Portugal, two bends are called Parabolica : The Parabolica Interior , a relatively tight left bend in the middle of the route, and the Parabolica Ayrton Senna , a slightly wider right bend before the home straight, which is very similar to the Parabolica in Monza.

On the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois in France, the Parabolique is a relatively tight right-hand bend in the section of the track, which was subsequently built in 1975 , with an average radius of 50 meters and an incline of 15 percent over the course.
