Paradise Fountain (Aachen)
The Paradiesbrunnen is a fountain created by Georg Frentzen in Aachen in 1897 in the cloister of Aachen Cathedral .
The fountain was made from sandstone by Georg Frentzen . It was originally created to decorate the cemetery that existed at this point at the time . The figures symbolize the four rivers of paradise, the Euphrates and Tigris , Pishon and Gihon . The four evangelists can be seen above these figures . The water in the fountain comes from the Pau , a stream flowing by.
The fountain is one of the architectural monuments of the city of Aachen.
