Paraherwenemef

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paraherwenemef was a son of the ancient Egyptian king ( Pharaoh ) Ramses II and his great royal wife Nefertari . He was the second son from this connection and the third son of the ruler. He is known from a statue and is depicted in battle reliefs of the ruler, as well as in lists of the ruler's children. Accordingly, he went through a military career and was “Commander in Chief of the King's Troops” and later “General Inspector of the Army” and “Commander in Chief of the Army”. Although his older brother Amunherchepeschef probably died shortly after the 25th year of Ramses II's reign, Paraherwenemef was never crown prince, as the next older son, Ramses, lived until the 50th year of Ramses II's reign and Paraherwenemef apparently died before that.
