The Paraplegic (of paraplegia - synonymous with paraplegia ) was a magazine from Humanis publishing , information, ideas, opinions and reports on disability bot. In addition, it served to create understanding for the problems of people with physical limitations and was an organ of the Fördergemeinschaft der paraplegten Deutschlands e. V. (FGQ). With the closure of the publishing house in 2014, the magazine will no longer appear. The magazine PARAlife! Journal for a life without barriers (medical future Verlag). All issues of PARAplegiker are still available in the archive and can be accessed online.

The magazine contains topics that deal with the association and asks questions that affect people with physical disabilities, such as:
- What new tools are there?
- Where can wheelchair users go on vacation?
- Which way does disabled sport take?
- Where is social policy going?
- How can dependents ensure their survival?
- What can you do to stay healthy despite a disability?
- How about sex
History of origin
The paraplegic began with the first issue in October 1982 as a news magazine for paraplegics in order to inform those affected and to straighten out the image of the paraplegic in society, and was published by Verlag für Medizin Dr. Ewald Fischer, Heidelberg, later (until 2008) published by Haug Verlag Stuttgart.
In 2009, the PARAplegiker was merged with the B-Journal for disabled people and has since been published by Humanis-Verlag für Gesundheit GmbH , the self-published by FGQ in Mölsheim as a magazine for people with physical disabilities .
