The Friedrichsgrün Park Railway (FPE) is a narrow-gauge park railway with a 600 millimeter gauge in the Friedrichsgrün district of the Reinsdorf community . It was founded in 1959 and has a circuit of 130 meters. There is a stop called "Haltpunkt Park Friedrichsgrün".
history
The Friedrichsgrüner Park Railway was founded in 1959 in the former Volkspark Friedrichsgrün on the grounds of the "Hasenhügels". There used to be a quarry at this point. The tracks and the vehicles were taken over by SDAG Wismut in Bad Schlema . The sleepers were last changed in 1988. The locomotive was parked between 1984 and 1988 and was put back into operation on July 22, 1988 after being refurbished.

An accumulator locomotive of the type Metallist from the manufacturer Mining Equipment Aue is used. This was originally used underground and was saved from being scrapped.
The wagons of the initial equipment were five converted shaft hunts , which were very prone to derailment due to the small wheelbase. These were used until 1992 and then dismantled. Since then, four underground team cars have been owned by the Park Railway as replacements, three of which have been converted. The roofs were raised 20 centimeters and the cars were suspended. 36 people find space in this. The originally preserved car serves as a demonstration object.
The Friedrichsgrün Park Railway is used for the annual Park Festival, the Walpurgis Fire and Children's Day. It can also be rented for private trips.
