Parliamentary question

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The parliamentary question is a possibility for individual MPs in a parliamentary democracy to exercise the parliamentary control function on an individual issue.

As a rule, the request must be answered by the responsible minister - in the case of overarching issues, possibly by the head of government - within a certain period of time. The rules of procedure of the respective parliament can provide for the possibility of additional questions, which then have to be answered directly by the minister.
