Ba'eda Mariam II

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ba'eda Mariam II was Negus Negest ( Emperor ) of Ethiopia from April 15 to December 1795 . He was possibly the son of Solomon II. Ba'eda Mariam came to the throne through Ras Wolde Gabriel and was crowned on May 18, 1795 in Aksum . The traveler Henry Salt lists him among the emperors who were still alive when he visited northern Ethiopia in 1809/1810.

According to EA Wallis Budge, some scholars believe that Ba'eda Mariam is the same person as Solomon III. acts.
