EURONEST Parliamentary Assembly

The EURO-NEST Parliamentary Assembly (PV EURO-NEST) is a parliamentary assembly in which members of the European Parliament consult with their colleagues from the countries of the Eastern Partnership . The acronym "EURO-NEST" is derived from " European Neighborhood Policy " and the French word for "East" (est).

history

Paragraph 35 of the "Resolution of the European Parliament of 24 April 2008 on the Commission's annual strategic planning for 2009" states:

"The European Parliament [...] calls on the Commission to support the creation of a parliamentary dimension of the East Neighborhood Policy by setting up a Parliamentary Assembly in the EU Neighborhood East, in which members of the European Parliament and members of the national parliaments from the countries of the Neighborhood East come together. "

On May 3, 2011, the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly was founded in Brussels. The standing committees meet twice, the Parliamentary Assembly as a whole once a year.
