The Parlamentarium is the visitor center of the European Parliament in Brussels (in Espace Léopold ). This was opened on October 14, 2011 by the then President of the European Parliament , Jerzy Buzek, after four years of planning and construction.

These are the largest visitor center of a Parliament in Europe . It is also the first exhibition in Europe (on around 2900 m 2 ) that is completely in the 24 official languages ​​of the European Union (using a multimedia guide ).

The exhibition is designed as a multimedia installation with interactive elements. B. Provides information about the European Union, the European Parliament and each individual Member .

The center of the visitor exhibition is the “ United in Diversity ” room with a 3-D LED installation on the ceiling with more than 13,000 LED points. In addition, the permanent exhibition will show a 360 ° panorama film about what is happening in the European Parliament, enable a virtual journey through Europe and draw attention to multilingualism as a special cultural heritage of Europe in a tunnel of voices .

The visitor center is open daily with free admission and is barrier-free. In 2011 about 250,000 visitors visited the Parlamentarium.

The German Atelier Brückner was responsible for the overall concept .
