Parodia turecekiana grows individually. The dark purple-green, spherical or often depressed spherical shoots reach heights of growth of 3 to 5 centimeters and diameters of 5 to 15 centimeters. The twelve to 13 ribs are strongly tubercular and only have a few areoles 1 to 1.3 centimeters apart in the notches per rib . The whitish or yellowish thorns have a reddish base. The one or two unequal, flattened and often twisted central spines are often missing in young plants. The upper central spine is directed upwards, the other downwards. They have lengths of 1 to 4 centimeters. The six to nine unequal radial spines lie on the shoot surface and are 1 to 3 centimeters long.
The yellow flowers reach lengths of 3 to 4 centimeters and diameters of up to 4.5 centimeters. The scars are yellow. The dry, spherical fruits are covered with white wool and are 1.4 to 1.6 inches long. They contain bell-shaped, cloudy dark brown seeds 1.2 millimeters long and 1.5 millimeters wide that are tuberous.
