The part was an English measure of length and part of the English foot . The measure belonged to the small measures. Another use of the unit of measure was for a unit of mass in Puducherry .

Length measure

  • 24 parts = 1 palm
  • 32 parts = 1 hand
  • 72 parts = 1 clamping
  • 96 Parts = 1 foot ( feet )

Mass unit

Part was also a mass unit in Puducherry and a so-called trial weight. A distinction was made between the weight for gold and silver . The basis here is the duty pound of 30 Lot . Around a lot of 16.667 grams can be used.
