The People's Unity Party ( Arabic حزب الوحدة الشعبية, DMG Ḥizb al-Waḥda aš-šaʿbiyya , French Parti de l'unité populaire , PUP) is a Tunisian political party that was founded in January 1981 and emerged from the movement of the people of Ahmed Ben Salah .

Recognized on November 19, 1983, it had eleven representatives in the Chamber of Deputies after the parliamentary elections in Tunisia in 2009 ; she has taken part in all parliamentary elections since 1986. The party is not represented in the constituent assembly elected in October 2011 .

Mohamed Belhaj Amor represented the People's Unity Party in the 1999 presidential election , where he received 0.31% of the vote. The party then set up its Secretary General Mohamed Bouchiha , who received 3.78% of the vote in the 2004 elections and 5.01% in 2009 .

The People's Unity Party describes itself as associated with socialism and Arab nationalism , but is not a member of the Socialist International . It publishes its daily party newspaper in Arabic ( al-Wahda ).
