Party badge

A party badge is a badge that shows a person's affiliation to a political party .

The badge thus also documents the content-related proximity of the wearer to the program or ideology of the party. The use of party badges is common in parties with a wide variety of political orientations.

In German-speaking countries, the use of party badges by the parties that supported the regime was particularly important. During the period of National Socialism the related NSDAP , the Nazi party badge , which as the party uniform and other symbols of Nazism in 1934 perfidy law was put under legal protection. The award of the golden party badge of the NSDAP and the party badge of the NSDAP for foreigners also served as an award in the sense of the regime.

In the GDR , the SED party badge was of particular importance, as well as in other former real socialist states, as well as in the Soviet Union .
