The Parti communiste réunionnais ( PCR , German Communist Party Réunions ) is a communist political party founded in France in 1959 , which competes exclusively in the overseas department of La Réunion . It is politically and personally independent of the Parti communiste français ( PCF , German Communist Party of France ). The PCR has the status of a people 's party on Reunion Island . In the last parliamentary elections in 2007, the candidates he supported achieved a total of 25.28 percent and thus a seat in the French National Assembly ; in the 2009 European elections in France , he won a seat in the European Parliament . The PCR is represented in the National Assembly by a member of the Gauche démocrate et républicaine parliamentary group. In previous legislative terms, MPs from the Réunions Communist Party were members of the Radicaux, Citoyens et Verts , Groupe communiste or non-attached . The PCR's press organ is the daily Témoignages .

With Younous Omarjee , the party has a member of the European Parliament .
