Élie Hoarau
Élie Hoarau (born July 8, 1938 in Sainte-Suzanne , Réunion ) is a French politician of the Parti communiste réunionnais .
Life
Hoarau studied chemistry. He is general secretary of the Parti communiste réunionnais in Réunion. From 1982 to 2001 Hoarau was Mayor of Saint-Pierre . From 1986 to 1987, from 1988 to 1993 and from 1997 to 2001 he was a member of the French National Assembly . Hoarau was a member of the European Parliament from 2009 to January 4, 2012 . He is married to the Senator Gélita Hoarau .
