Pascal Mahé (born December 15, 1963 in Caen ) is a former French handball national player and today's handball coach. Most recently he was coach of the French club Chartres Métropole Handball 28.
Pascal Mahé made his first appearance in 1984 at the age of 20 for the French national team, for which he made a total of 297 international appearances. He was part of the Barjots team , which had the first successes of the French national handball team. In 1992 Mahé won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Barcelona , a year later the silver medal at the World Cup, and in 1995 he even won the world title when the Barjots in Iceland beat Croatia 23:19 in the final. He was also once French champion with US Créteil (1989) and Montpellier HB (1995).
He coached the A-youth and the second team of TSV Bayer Dormagen and was the youth coach of the German Handball Federation .
In the 2012/13 season he coached the senior team and the B youth team of SG Ratingen 2011 in the Niederrhein Association League.
Pascal Mahé moved to the French second division club Chartres Métropole Handball 28 on June 1, 2013. After the club rose to the top French league in 2015 under his leadership, Mahé was dismissed in October 2015 after losing seven games in a row. From the 2018/19 season he will train in Caen handball.
His son Kentin was appointed to the French national handball team for the first time in October 2010; In 2015, 20 years after his father, and again in 2017, he was also world handball champion . In addition to Kentin, Pascal also has a son and a daughter.
