Paschal Donohoe
Paschal Donohoe (born September 19, 1974 ) is an Irish politician ( Fine Gael ) and since February 2011 member of the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament . After Lucinda Creighton's resignation as Irish Minister for Europe , Paschal Donohoe was appointed her successor on July 12, 2013. With the cabinet reshuffle on July 11, 2014, he was appointed Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport. Since June 2017 he has been Minister for Finance, Public Spending and Public Service Reform. He has been Chairman of the Eurogroup since July 2020 .

Donohoe attended St Declan's Christian Brothers School in Cabra and studied at Trinity College in Dublin . After completing his studies, he worked in the UK and Ireland as Sales & Marketing Director for the multinational Procter & Gamble .
Political career
In 2006, he resigned as Sales & Marketing Director in preparation for his candidacy in the 2007 elections for the 30th Dáil Éireann. He stood here for the Fine Gael in the constituency of Dublin Central , but could not win a mandate. Instead, Donohoe was elected to the Seanad Éireann and, as a result, resigned his mandate as a member of the Dublin City Council , which he had held since 2004.
In June 2009 he ran in the by -election in the constituency of Dublin Central , made necessary by the death of Tony Gregory , but was defeated by the independent candidate Maureen O'Sullivan . It was not until the next regular election in February 2011 that he succeeded in being elected to the Dáil Éireann. His seat in the 23rd Seanad Éireann thus became vacant.
As of July 13, 2020, he will be Chairman of the Eurogroup and successor to Mário Centeno for a term of office of 2 years and 6 months .

Donohoe is married and has two children.
