Trade wind

Trade wind cloud over the Cumbre Nueva on La Palma

Trade wind clouds are created by the moisture absorption of the extremely dry basic trade wind . They belong to the so-called fair weather clouds ( Cumulus humilis or Cumulus mediocris ). The Passat clouds show the altitude of the Passatin version .

Typically, the trade wind clouds rise to a height of 1000 meters during the day. In the dammed areas of the mountains, the clouds can also rise higher, but the Passatin version also limits further ascent here, so that in this case too, at best, a light drizzle can occur. At night the trade winds dissolve again.
