The ordinance for the implementation of the Passport Act , officially abbreviated as the Passport Ordinance , of October 19, 2007 is a German statutory ordinance issued at federal level that regulates details of passport law based on authorizations in the Passport Act . It came into force on November 1, 2007 as Article 1 of the Ordinance Amending Passport Law and Other Provisions .

The content of the following ordinances was replaced by the Passport Ordinance and expired at the same time as the Passport Ordinance came into force on November 1, 2007:

  • the passport sample ordinance,
  • the previous ordinance on the implementation of the Passport Act,
  • the ordinance on official passports of the Federal Republic of Germany and
  • the passport fee ordinance.

With the amending ordinance of August 8, 2005, it was determined that biometric data in the form of a photo stored in a storage medium are included in the travel, service and diplomatic passport and that these passports are marked with the corresponding signet on the passport cover.
