history
The building was erected on Avenida da República from 1919 based on a design by José Tomaz de Sousa and opened in 1922. The eponymous pastry shop is located on the ground floor .
nature
The rectangular building has five floors. The facade consists of two units, one wide rectangular and one vertical. The classic balustrade sits on central columns with various capitals . The consoles and pilasters feature baroque decorative elements and shapes . The facade shows numerous decorative Art Nouveau elements , such as the wrought-iron railings of the balconies. In 1996 it was classified as an Imóvel de Interest Público .
