life and career

As an ardent Celtic Glasgow supporter, Nevin also came into the youth team of the green-whites. His biggest problem at the time was his small height, which is why Celtic sold him to FC Clyde . While he was under contract with Clyde (1981-1983) he was called up for the Scottish U-19 selection . With the U-19 national team, he took part in the U-19 European Championship in Finland . Nevin won the title with his team and was voted the best player of the tournament. After these good performances he moved to Chelsea in England in 1983 . With the Blues he rose to the top English league. In 1988 it went to Everton FC . After his career in Liverpool , he played for Tranmere Rovers for five years and for three years in his native Scotland with Kilmarnock FC and Motherwell FC . Internationally, Nevin played 28 times for his native Scotland , scoring five goals. He made his debut against Romania in 1986 . Nevin took part in the European Football Championship in Sweden in 1992 , was a substitute in all three group matches and was eliminated with the Scottish selection in the group stage after one win and two losses. Nevin currently works as a columnist, television analyst for BBC Scotland and radio commentator for the BBC. The intellectual soccer player also launched an autobiography called In Ma Head, Son .
