The patent bottom is a bottom variant for folding boxes made of cardboard , corrugated cardboard or plastic . With a rectangular base, it consists of four tabs that are glued together with 45-degree angle tabs . When the main body is erected, they automatically sit up and hook into one another. The stability of the floor is increased by the load with packaged goods . There is also a variant for folding boxes with a hexagonal base.
