BlackSky Pathfinder 1 is an earth observation satellite from the American company BlackSky Global .

It was found on September 25, 2016 at 3:42 UTC with a PSLV launcher from the Satish Dhawan Space Center rocket launch site (together with SCATSAT-1 371 kg, Alsat-1N 7 kg, Alsat-1B 103 kg, Alsat-2B 116 kg, SpaceMag-PV 10 kg, CanX-7 8 kg, PISat 5 kg) brought into a sun-synchronous orbit.

The three-axis stabilized satellite is equipped with a camera from Harris Corporation that records images in three color bands of blue (400-510 nm), green (510-580 nm) and red (590-750 nm). From a height of 450 km, the camera should achieve a resolution of one meter with an image size of 4.4 × 6.6 km on the earth's surface, whereby the satellite can take pictures from 30 ° outside the nadir. It was built by Spaceflight Services and has a planned lifespan of three years. BlackSky Global is planning to launch 60 satellites that will allow images for a wide variety of purposes with high recording frequencies every 10 to 60 minutes.
