Patotte Bousquet
Étienne "Patotte" Bousquet (* 1925 ; † 1998 ) was a French gypsy jazz guitarist.
Bousquet, who came from Corsica and lived in the Midi , first played the banjo and worked in an accordion band in Marseille . In 1960 he presented the album Hommage à Django (National Records), with compositions by Django Reinhardt (“Manoir de mes rêves”) and jazz standards such as “ Body and Soul ”, “ The Man I Love ” or “ What Is This Thing Called Love ". With Gérard Cardi he formed a duo that lasted two decades; with Cardi he also recorded the EP L'Extraordinaire Guitariste Gitan Vol. 1 . Bousquet entered and a. in North Africa and the Camarque ; Concert recordings were also broadcast on French television. In the field of jazz he was involved in three recording sessions around 1970. In 1975 he gave up his music career and worked as a shoe seller.
