Patrice Bart

Patrice Bart (* 1945 in Paris ) is a French dancer , choreographer and ballet master . He is the deputy ballet director and ballet master of the Ballet de l'Opéra de Paris .

biography

In 1957, at the age of 12, Bart began his ballet training at the École de Danse de l'Opéra de Paris . Only two years later, not even 15 years old, he joined the corps de ballet of the Paris Opera. In 1963 he was made Coryphée , in 1969 he was promoted to Prime Minister danseur . During a performance of Swan Lake , he was finally appointed Étoile in 1972.

Before finishing his stage career in 1989, Bart began working as a ballet trainer. Since 1990 he has been the ballet master of the Paris Opera Ballet.

Bart presented his first choreography in 1993 with his version of Don Quichotte at the Berlin State Opera Unter den Linden . Since then he has revised the classical repertoire works as well as choreographed completely new works for various companies around the world.
