One like Beni Thurnheer is a seven-part casting show with Beni Thurnheer , which was broadcast on Swiss sports television every Sunday evening from February 6, 2011 .
Casting
On October 13, 2010, the first call to participate in the casting for the show was made. 360 people answered within 72 hours. After two public auditions in Basel's St. Jakobshalle and in the Letzigrund Stadium in Zurich , 1,400 people had registered by the time shooting started. For pre-selection, the candidates had to comment on a short sequence from a Challenge League football game. In the first episode of the TV series, 11 finalists were selected.

The jury consists of Beni Thurnheer and Claudia Lässer . A guest juror is added to each broadcast. Hanspeter Latour was the first guest juror. The aim of the casting show is to find a commentator for football games on Swiss sports television. The winner of the show receives a commentary contract for Swiss sports television and is allowed to comment on a Challenge League game live on the channel every month with the prospect of a full-time position. Bernard Thurnheer is a juror and namesake of the show. Thurnheer will coach the winner of the show on his career path and thus beyond the TV show. One like Beni Thurnheer is produced on behalf of Swiss sports television by the production company FaroTV , a subsidiary of Condor Films .

Someone like Beni Thurnheer was widely received in the press. The fact that Beni Thurnheer, who also works in front of the camera, is under contract with the competing broadcaster Schweizer Fernsehen was discussed intensely . The TV series was also discussed on TeleZüri . The jury members Beni Thurnheer and Claudia Lässer were twice guests of the moderator Markus Gilli on the local broadcaster's talk show .
