Bernard "Beni" Thurnheer (* 11. July 1949 in Winterthur ; heimatberechtigt in Weinfelden ) is a Swiss sports reporter , TV - presenter and emcee .

life and career

Thurnheer's father comes from Thurgau , his mother from Vaud . He studied law at the University of Zurich and graduated in 1973 with a degree ( magna cum laude ). In the same year he was discovered and employed among 1,600 competitors at a young talent competition for sports reporters by radio and television DRS. After working primarily as a radio presenter, he appeared on television for the first time in 1975, as a presenter for the program Sportkalender .
