Patrick Gsteiger

Patrick Gsteiger (born July 5, 1967 ) is a Swiss politician ( EPP ).

Life

Gsteiger completed an apprenticeship as. Architectural draftsman From 1989 to 1990 he attended the police school in Ittigen . He then worked as a canton police officer in Moutier from 1990 to 1996 . He then worked from 1997 to 2003 in the Bernese Jura regional investigation. Gsteiger now became a research assistant at the State Chancellery of the Canton of Bern and was secretary of the regional council from 2003 to 2006, and then from June 2006 to September 2006 general secretary ad interim of the Bern Jurassic Council.

His political career began in the Perrefitte local council , of which he was a member from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2006 he was mayor of Perrefitte. In addition, from 2003 to 2006 he was a member of the board of directors of the Bernese Jura and Biel municipal presidents' conference. Since 2005, Gsteiger has been a member of the cantonal board of the EPP Canton of Bern and President of the EPP Bernese Jura. Since 2006 he has been a member of the Bern delegation in the Conseil de la Conférence Transjurassienne CTJ . He has also been a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern for the constituency of the Bernese Jura since June 1, 2010 .

Today Gsteiger is the co-owner of an engineering office. He is married and has two children.
