Patrick Nidorf

Patrick Nidorf (* 1932 ) is an American author and psychotherapist . Nidorf is the founder of the US LGBT organization DignityUSA .

Life

After finishing school, Nidorf studied Roman Catholic theology . He entered the Augustinian order . In 1962 Nidorf was ordained a priest . Nidorf worked as a priest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles . In his work Nidorf met many homosexual Catholics and in 1969 founded the organization DignityUSA.

In 1973 Nidorf resigned from his position as a priest and married. Nidorf began to work as a psychotherapist. He published several books in the following years. In addition, he designed an extensive collection of art objects.
