Patrick Poppel

Patrick Poppel (* 1985 in Vienna ) is an international pro-Russian propagandist .

Austrian media see Poppel as a Russian agent of influence who maintains contact with right-wing politicians in Austria.

Until 2019 he was the general secretary of the Suvorov Institute in Vienna. After Poppel appeared as an election observer on the soil of the Russian Federation, Federal Councilor Ewa Dziedzic ( The Greens ) asked the Austrian Parliament in 2018 . In 2018 Poppel invited the controversial Russian philosopher Alexunder Dugin to Vienna, which caused a stir in the Austrian media. Poppel is described as an "enemy of the state" on a Ukrainian website because of his support for the self-proclaimed People's Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk .

Poppel is currently Secretary General of the Austrian-Abkhaz Society . Poppel is in the rank of "Colonel" commander of the honor guard of the Lazarus Union , of which the controversial German association Uniter is a member.
