Patriots of Russia ( Russian Патрио́ты Росси́и / Patrioty Rossii ) is a political party in Russia .
The party was formed in April 2005 through the merger of several small parties. According to its program, the party aims to build a socially just civil society in Russia through the unification and joint work of all patriotic forces. Nationalism and other forms of extremism are rejected. In March 2006, the party was able to clear the five percent threshold in the regional parliamentary elections in the Kaliningrad and Orenburg oblasts . In December 2007 she ran for the first time in the elections to the State Duma , but with 0.89% of the vote clearly missed the seven percent threshold.
The chairman of the party is Gennady Semigin , a Duma deputy in the Rodina faction since 2003 and a member of the Russian Communist Party until 2004 .
