Patty Moon is a band that was founded in 1998 by Judith Heusch (composition, vocals, piano) and Tobias Schwab (arrangements, guitar, bass, piano, accordion, clarinet, melodica, percussion). Patty Moon's music is influenced by electronica , which mixes with numerous classical and acoustic elements such as string quartets or piano motifs. The band is assigned to both the pop and the independent genre.

Band history

Through her big brother, Judith Heusch met producer and multi-instrumentalist Tobias Schwab in 1998 at a university demonstration. Thanks to her brother's commitment, Judith was soon able to make the first recordings in Schwab's studio, which immediately motivated the founding of the band “Patty Moon”. The first album called Clouds Inside was released in 2004 and was mixed by Notwist producer Mario Thaler in the Uphon studio in Weilheim. The record was released by the jazz and world music label Traumton Records from Berlin.

Then there were various gigs in Germany and collaborations with other projects. A time of thought and crisis followed, until the musicians could find each other again in a common goal: the second album Lost in Your Head (also released on Traumton Records in 2008). In 2011 the album Mimi and Me was finally released , on which the band contributed three songs for the movie In der Welt haben dich Angst by Hans W. Geißendörfer .

Collaborations

  • The string arrangements on the album Clouds Inside were played by the Holst-Sinfonietta Freiburg.
  • The songs Landscape , Stardust and Cover Me from the album Mimi and Me were written by Hans W. Geißendörfer for the feature film In der Welt ihr Angst , which was released on March 3, 2011 in German cinemas.
  • The song Straight Alone was used in the movie Mein bester Feind by Wolfgang Murnberger .
