The Paul Gerhardt Church , also known as the “Red Church”, is a church building belonging to the Protestant parish Cologne-Lindenthal at the intersection of Lindenthalgürtel / Gleueler Strasse in Cologne-Lindenthal .

history

The church was built in 1900/01 as a neo-Gothic brick church, which gave it its popular name. It was almost completely destroyed in 1944. It was given the name Paul Gerhardt Church in 1951 when it was rebuilt very simply with gray plaster . During the extensive renovation in 1996 with an extension behind the choir for smaller events, it was given a bright red plaster that corresponds to its old name.

Furnishing

The new main pieces of equipment, the Lord's Supper table, baptismal font and pulpit were designed and made by Werner Pokorny .

organ

The organ was rebuilt in 2011 by the organ construction company Kreienbrink (Osnabrück). The slider chest instrument has 30 stops on two manuals and pedal. The game actions are mechanical, the stop actions are electric.
