Paul Bergner

Paul Bergner (* 1939 in Dresden ) is a German author and former member of the armed organs of the GDR .

Paul Bergner was born in Dresden in 1939. According to his own information in his publications, he attended the 48th elementary school in Dresden from 1945 to 1953 and did an apprenticeship as a bricklayer until 1955 . After two years in this profession, his career began in 1957 as a member of the armed organs of the GDR in several positions and in different offices, until 1990. Uses that can be proven by other sources were also included: riot police of the MdI , officer student NVA Panzeroffiziersschule Grossenhain, Artillery officer 11th VP-Readiness Magdeburg, defense officer of the Ministry for State Security and qualified lawyer. From 1990 he worked, also by his own account, as a gardener in the forest settlement , and completed an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk for handicraft businesses and as a tax assistant. At the same time, Bergner has verifiably researched and published since 1990 on the subject complexes "Accommodation, security and care of the leading representatives of the GDR and their foreign guests" and "The bunker buildings as a specific manifestation of the Cold War in East and West" and operates a website relating to this. In this regard, he also worked as a consultant and expert on several TV productions, for example the MDR.

Paul Bergner lives in the Berlin area in the Wandlitz district of Basdorf . He is married and has two children.
