Paul Copan

Paul Copan (born September 20, 1962 ) is an American theologian, philosopher, apologist and author. He is a professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University and holds the Pledger Chair of Philosophy .

Life

Copan graduated with Ph.D. , Marquette University (Philosophy, 2000), M.Div., Trinity International University (Theology, 1988), MA, Trinity International University (Philosophy of Religion) and BA, Columbia International University (Biblical Studies). From 1989 to 1995 he worked as a minister at the First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady , NY.

He has been a member of the Society of Christian Philosophers since 1986, Evangelical Theological Society since 1995, Evangelical Philosophical Society since 1997, American Catholic Philosophical Association since 1999, Society of Biblical Literature since 1999, and American Philosophical Association since 2003.

He has authored seven books on religious pluralism and religion & science, as well as eleven books on the philosophy of religion and the historicity of Jesus Christ. He has published numerous articles in professional journals and is President of the Evangelical Philosophical Society .
