Columbia International University is a private Christian university in Columbia (South Carolina) in the United States . The university is known for its emphasis on spiritual development, biblical authority, and world evangelism.
history
In 1923 the Columbia Bible School was founded. The original purpose was to offer staff in Christian communities a two-year Bible course. In 1927 it was decided to convert the Bible School into a college and offer the Bachelor of Arts in Bible Studies. Initially the college was in the City of Columbia. In 1960 the college, which had grown rapidly, moved to the current campus in a suburb. In the 1960s, Robertson McQuilkin, son of the first principal, principal, and the institution's name was changed to Columbia Bible College and Seminary. In 1994 it became Columbia International University.
