Paul Evans Aidoo

Paul Evans Aidoo (born August 4, 1958 in Sefwi-Ewiase , Western Region in Ghana ) is a Ghanaian politician ( NDC ). Since January 2005 he has been a member of the Parliament of Ghana for the constituency of Sefwi-Wiawso and since January 2009 Regional Minister of the Western Region in the Atta-Mills government .

Aidoo attended Enchi Teacher Training College ("A-Level") between 1977 and 1981 ; In 1980 he passed the General Certificate of Education ("O-Level"). From 1981 he worked as a teacher , in 1985 he began his work in the National Mobilization Program as a District Liaison Officer . Between 1997 and 2001 he worked in the Rawlings government as a district administrator at the Ministry of Local Administration . Aidoo headed the Ghana Education Service between 2002 and 2004 .

In the parliamentary elections in 2004 and 2008 , Aidoo won the constituency Sefwi-Wiawso with an absolute majority and thus moved into the Ghanaian parliament as a member.

Aidoo is a Catholic Christian ; he speaks English and Twi , is married and has five children.

In July 2011, Aidoo sparked increased media interest in his person: he instructed the security authorities in Ghana to arrest all homosexuals in the country; Christian organizations supported him in this demand.
