The parliamentary elections in Ghana in 2008 in the West African state of Ghana took place on December 7, 2008 at the same time as the presidential elections. As a result, the New Patriotic Party , which has previously ruled, has to be content with second place behind the previous opposition party, the National Democratic Congress .
