Referendum in Ghana 1992

The 1992 Ghana referendum was a 1992 vote in Ghana . Here the people should vote on the fourth constitution of Ghana . A total of 3,680,974 voters out of 8,255,690 eligible voters voted on the constitution. The referendum was held on April 28, 1992.

The proposed constitution was adopted with a large majority of over 92% of the votes and has been the constitutional basis of Ghana ever since. Important elements of the new constitution were the introduction of a presidential republic and a multi-party system.
