General election in Ghana 1979

The 1979 parliamentary elections in Ghana were held on June 18. At the same time, the first round of the presidential election took place. An estimated 5 million voters took part in the 1979 general election. A total of 140 seats were awarded in these parliamentary elections by direct election according to constituencies.
