Paul Jaeckel (Reich judge)

Karl Josef Paul Jaeckel also Jäckel (born November 10, 1845 in Waldenburg / Silesia , † July 2, 1906 ) was a German judge .

Life

The doctor of law became a trainee lawyer in the Prussian civil service in 1868 and quickly made a career. In mid-October 1872 he became a court assessor and in December a district judge in Lublinitz. In 1877 or 1879 he was promoted to district judge in Gleiwitz. In 1884 he was transferred to the Berlin I district court. In 1888 he was promoted to the higher regional judge in Poznan. In 1892 he was transferred to the Supreme Court. He was appointed senior administrative judge in Berlin in 1893. In 1896 he came to the Imperial Court. Until his death in 1906 he worked in the 5th Civil Senate and shaped the real estate law of the Senate. In 1905, after the death of his Senate colleague Rassow, he was co-editor of Julius Albert Gruchot's articles. He died in office in 1906 after a brief illness. Jaeckel was known for his comment on the foreclosure auction law and for a controversy with Otto Bähr in 1885/86 about civil proceedings.
