from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Paul Kedelv (born April 12, 1917 in Sweden ; † 1990 ) was a Swedish glass artist .

Life

Paul Kedelv began working as a draftsman in the Orrefors glassworks in 1931 , where he became a student of Simon Gate and Edward Hald . He also worked for Notsjo in Finland .

From 1949 to 1956, Kedelv worked as an artistic designer in the Swedish glass factory Flygsfors , which first produced window glass, but then began specializing in multi-colored glass from 1952. During this time, the glass factory gained international reputation thanks to Kedelv's free-form creations. For his objects, Kedelv liked to choose solid, rounded shapes and contrasting, bright and fashionable colors. Kedelv's engagement with Flygsfors lasted seven years, but after he left the company, his existing designs were used for a long time.

Between 1956 and 1977 Kedelv worked in glass processing in Reijmyre . The glass artist also designed products for the Nybro factories in Frøseke and the glassworks in Fåglaviks .
