Paul Rheinbay

Paul Rheinbay SAC (born April 29, 1959 in Boppard ) is a German theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1977, he joined the Pallottine community . He studied theology at the Vallendar University of Applied Sciences . After 3 years of work as a pastor in parishes, he completed a postgraduate course in church history in Rome , where he earned his doctorate in 1993 with a thesis on a picture Bible from the 16th century. Since 1990 he has lectured at the University of Vallendar. Since his habilitation in 1999 he has held the chair for church history. From 2000 to 2004 and April 2009 to March 2017, he was the rector of the university. From 1996 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2008 he was Deputy Rector.
